If there is one thing 2025 has taught us, it’s that Pokémon card illustrations have never been appreciated more, and I’m not only talking about the crazy Secret Illustration Rares.

While many collectors are chasing those high-value chase-cards, there is a dedicated community of us who collect the common and uncommon cuties to make an adorable collection.

From the soft pastel colors used to draw the Pokémon to the playful interactions hidden in the backgrounds, this year has been a goldmine for “cute and silly” cards here on Pocket Scout.

I’ve combined the top 10 cutest (and sometimes silly) Pokémon cards that stole my heart, and probably will steal yours as well! Grab a coffee, get cozy, and let’s count down the top 10 cutest Pokémon cards that stole our hearts on my website in 2025.

10. Pichu (25/99) – Platinum: Arceus

Artist: Kanako Eo

Personally, I think this is one of the all-time cutest Pichu cards. The number 10 on this list is a classic from the Platinum - Arceus set and remains a fan favorite in 2025. Illustrated by the legendary Kanako Eo, it perfectly captures the "Baby Pokémon" charm. With its signature "Baby Evolution" Poké-Power, this card reminds us of the Gen 4 era – the last time we saw new babies added to the Pokédex! Between the round puppy-eyes and the vibrant yellow color palette, this card is a "cuteness overload" for any binder.

9. Jessie & James (68/68) – Hidden Fates

Artist: Megumi Mizutani

Prepare for trouble, and make it double! This Hidden Fates Full Art captures Team Rocket’s most iconic moment: "blasting off again." The chaotic artwork – featuring a knocked-out Meowth and flying dirt – is a brilliant touch by Megumi Mizutani. Despite the 2025 market boom, this card remains one of the most silly and still affordable Full Art Trainers for collectors. Its clean green background makes the duo's pink and purple hair pop beautifully.

8. Lillie’s Clefairy (184/159) – Journey Together

Artist: Susumu Maeya

Number 8 on this list is a modern card that stands out.Lillie’s Clefairy from the Journey Together expansion is a perfect example in "Happy Hits" storytelling. This card features an adorable scene reflecting Lillie’s backstory of overcoming her fear of Pokémon. The contrast between the lush green grass and Clefairy’s soft pink tones makes this card fit in any “cutie collection”. It’s not the most common or cheap card, but it’s a must-have for anyone collecting the "Trainer's Pokémon" cards.

7. Litleo (28/196) – Lost Origin

Artist: Sekio

Who knew a Fire-type could be this cute on ice? For the 7th cutest card featured on Pocket Scout this year, Sekio thought outside the box for the artwork of Litleo in Lost Origin. He placed this little lion in a slippery, snowy landscape. Watching Litleo struggle to stand while a Galarian Mr. Mime skates smoothly in the background is pure "Happy Hit" energy. It’s one of those underrated bulk cards that proves you don’t need a high price tag to have top-tier cuteness cards.

6. Swablu (57/70) – Dragon Majesty

Artist: Shibuzoh

If you are looking for a fluffy Pokémon, look no further. Shibuzoh’s illustration of Swablu for Dragon Majesty features two round, soft happy birds playing in a puddle. The soft pastel colors and attention to detail in the wings make this feel more like a watercolor painting than a trading card. It’s a quiet, spontaneous card that captures the “Happy Hits” vibe perfectly.

5. Chimchar (18/114) – Steam Siege

Artist: Shibuzoh

Number 5 on the list features another card illustrated by Shibuzoh. Steam Siege might be a controversial set, but this Chimchar is a winner among the cuties. The "Silly Fire Monkey" is caught red-handed (or should I say red-mouthed) holding a gear from an exploded clock tower. It’s a mischievous yet innocent scene that always brings a smile. The contrast between the warm Chimchar and the bright blue sky is an ideal example of great card composition.

4. Togepi (102/135) – Plasma Storm

Artist: Kanako Eo

Number 4 on this list is the definition of a “Baby Pokémon”. This Togepi from Plasma Storm version is arguably its cutest appearance we have ever seen in the Pokémon TCG. Walking with arms wide open, this 40HP "cutie-pie" is a joy to find in any binder. Its signature "Yawn" attack is the perfect thematic finish for such a cute and adorable card.

3. Oshawott (30/114) – Steam Siege

Artist: sui

We have reached the top 3 of cutest cards featured on Pocket Scout in 2025! Generation 5 holds a special place in many collectors' hearts, and Oshawott is the star of the show here. This card from Steam Siege (That’s right, another one from Steam Siege!) features a "dreamy" vibe thanks to artist sui’s soft touch. Oshawott’s big happy smile and the sparkling environment make it look like a cherished memory – perfect for a "Happy Hits" spotlight.

2. Alolan Vulpix (30/156) – Ultra Prism

Artist: Tomokazu Komiya

The second cutest card on this list is the first entry I ever did here on Pocket Scout, and it’s from the legendary Tomokazu Komiya! This card from the Sun & Moon – Ultra Prism expansion features three Alolan Vulpix playing in the snow. Komiya’s unique, "wobbly" and silly style captures the chaotic joy of Pokémon just being themselves – slipping, sliding, and enjoying the winter weather. I’ve not seen Pokémon enjoying each other's company this much before!

1. Gulpin (RC12/RC32) – Generations (Radiant Collection)

Artist: Tomokazu Komiya

Taking the #1 spot is the ultimate cute card in the "Happy Hits" series: Gulpin from the Generations Radiant Collection. This card makes me happy for all the right reasons. Illustrated by Tomokazu Komiya, it features a young trainer and Gulpin mimicking each other by balancing forks on their lips. It perfectly captures the bond between humans and Pokémon in the most hilarious way possible. With its unique Komiya art style and heartwarming scene, I would say that this Gulpin is officially the cutest card of 2025 that was featured here on Pocket Scout!
