It’s time to go Back in our Binder for a second time!
This week, I picked a card that I don’t own myself. This Ponyta (72/102) from Triumphant, illustrated by Kyoko Umemoto, has a very intriguing and unique artwork and that’s why I wanted to showcase this card to you guys.
Next to scouting my binders, I like to search Pocket Scout for cool cards as well. When I was scrolling though some HeartGold & SoulSilver expansions (like Triumphant) , I saw this card – I had never seen it before – and I liked it instantly.
When you take a random Pokémon card from your collection, the chance is tower-high that the card you pick features one (or multiple) Pokémon wandering around in their preferred habitat. Think about a Wooper swimming in a pond or a Snorlax eating a berry while laying down under a tree. Kyoko Umemoto decided to take another path with this card.
The clean and soft patterns go really well with the colors of Ponyta, but when you look closer and turn the card 45 degrees, the white squares form the ground, the pink shapes form bushes and the blue background looks like the sky! Overall, it’s a beautiful card that I feel not a lot of people know exists.
Want this card in your collection? Pocket Scout did the searching for you!
