Well, I have, because it’s part of my old binder collection!
This Mewtwo Black Star Promo (14) from the year 2000 is an eyecatcher for sure! Illustrated by Benimaru Itoh , this card has an artstyle that you don’t see often at all. The deep black colored background and Mewtwo in the front with some bright colors behind it make it stand out very well in any collection.
When we take a closer look at the artwork itself, you’ll see that it has obviously visible pixels on purpose. It gives the style of the Mewtwo more character. The drawing itself on the other hand has something scary about it… a really intriguing card!
Why I wanted to place this card in the “Back in the Binder” spotlight as well, is because it’s surprisingly cheap as a single. At the time of publishing this article, recent sales on eBay are around the 6 dollar mark! That’s crazy if you look at the current Pokémon card hype in my opinion.
